Sub Strike - Warship Game | Play Online for Free
Take command of a surface warship in Sub Strike, a retro-inspired arcade game. Dodge rising mines and sink enemy submarines in this high-tension tribute to 70s classic shooters.
A Retro Depth-Charge Challenge
If you’ve ever spent time in a dusty arcade or played some of the earliest console gems from the late 70s, Sub Strike will feel like a long-lost friend. It’s a straightforward, high-stakes homage to classic submarine shooters where the screen is split into two distinct worlds: your ship on the surface and a claustrophobic abyss below.
You aren't the hunter here; you're the target. While you patrol the surface, waves of enemy submarines are constantly maneuvering beneath you, aiming to turn your hull into scrap metal. It’s a game of timing and spatial awareness that captures that "just one more go" feeling without the need for complex tutorials or bloated mechanics.
How to Play
The gameplay loop in Sub Strike is deceptively simple but gets chaotic fast. Your primary goal is to clear out the sub-infestation using depth charges. However, you can't just spam explosives. Each charge takes a moment to sink, meaning you have to lead your targets and predict where a sub will be by the time your weapon reaches its depth.
While you're hunting them, they are hunting you. Subs release floating mines that drift toward the surface. If you clip one, it’s game over. You’ll need to keep a sharp eye out for the red flashing submarines—these are the real headaches of the deep. They’re indestructible, meaning you have to focus on dodging their relentless mine-laying rather than trying to take them out. Success comes down to managing the screen real estate: clearing out the "killable" subs to give yourself room to weave through the minefields left by the red ones.
